DSET Corporation

DSET Remote Operations Service Element (ROSE) package is implemented inconjunction with the DSET DSG. It provides a standard method ofestablishing an application association (binding), initiating remoteoperations and releasing the association (unbinding) as defined in ISO9072 and CCITT Recommendations X.219 and X.229.The remote operations are executed with five service primitives includingthe following: invoke, result, error, user reject (abort-u), and providerreject (abort-p). The DSET implementation consists of a function librarythat can be linked directly to the presentation protocol. The useremploys function calls into the library to initiate requests andresponses. Indications and confirmations are calls from the library intouser functions. ROSE uses ASN.1 notation to define a remote operation andits expected results.
